I Feel So Special
According to all known building regulations, there is no way a house should be able to fit two families, upwards of four bedrooms, two complete kitchens, a basement rental suite, a carport, and a suspiciously large front balcony onto a standard Vancouver lot.
Its footprint is too wide, its roof is too flat, its square footage is too high, and there is simply too much stucco.
This style of house, of course, was built by the thousands anyway, because houses don’t care what architects think is impossible.
It’s technically mostly basement. It looks like an ugly box. It’s been more copy-pasted than the Bee Movie script, and being half a century old, it’s even more dated too. And yet, these houses still hold a… special place in our hearts. Go find one.
